Physical issue at school, no action taken

Hi there. My genuinely very sensible and mature 8 year old was having her lunch and another child in her year grabbed her pony tail and tried to push her face into her lunch. My child told a dinner lady. No action was taken that I’m aware of. I only know about this as another child told her mum who told me. I then asked my child who said essentially, yes that’s what that child does. I don’t think my child is being bullied and she is quite resilient but I’m still quite sad to think this has happened. Given a member of staff was told, am I right to think the school should have notified me?

I teach similar aged children. There’s probably 30 ish similar incidents like this that happen a day. If it was a one off I wouldn’t tell parents that a child tried to push another.

I don't think the school needed to notify you, as your child wasn't injured, but I do think the other child should have been told off.
