I've been called a child abuser by another parent at school

Hi Guys,

I was called into a meeting this afternoon with the SENDCo and my boy's class teacher to discuss some admissions paperwork - this wasn't done before because we didn't have time, the school was named on the EHCP during the school holidays so we just had to send him on a certain day, and that was it.

Anyway - long story short, my boy almost died because of a serious accident he had

Anyway, after the accident the police had to attend their address in order to get CCTV footage and search our house, this apparently really upset their daughter and they moved shortly afterwards.

Long story short, we were proven innocent, got him back and homeschooled him until the following September.

We then started him at school and we didn't realise that their daughter still attends the local school so of course we've gone along to a school trip to help not knowing she would be there and apparently she was very, very upset.

Her parents then rock up to the school (I didn't know this happened) and confronted one of the teachers saying "why are you allowing child abusers into school?"

This was raised as a safeguarding concern, the school were well aware of his accident before any of this happened and said to me that they hadn't got any problem from their perspective it was all gossip and hearsay, they could see the effort we were making and thought we did a very good job.

However, They've said that they are going to keep an eye on my boy while he is on his breaks and lunchtimes in case anything happens

I'm concerned about why anything would happen, apart from him being at a higher risk of bullying due to other kids learning about this and believing it to be true, possibly on the instruction of their parents who also believe it to be true when it's not.

I'm further concerned by the fact other parents might have heard it and may start to victimise us.

For these reasons, I am thinking about changing Schools.

Am I being overly paranoid? It's been a few weeks since the school trip and nothing has happened, I'm just very worried about my boy.
