Not sure what to do here - bus shenanigans

So my 13 y/old DS gets the school bus home. Long-term ass-hattery with him and another couple of lads (in which mine gives as good as he gets, so he's not wholly spotless here)
Long story but will cut it short. He has a hobby, some of the other kids in older and younger year groups do it too. He's one of the class geeks, so.
Yesterday on the way home there was some dickheadery involving his photo being taken without his consent, "geek" filter applied, uploaded to Snapchat. Trying to take his phone off him to get at his social media accounts and harrass his mates out of school.
That's just annoying, but they've now started shouting bout how DS "chats up two year olds online" and that's just not OK.
I work with young people who sexually offend and probably this pisses me off more than it should for that reason - I appreciate teens calling each other names has been a thing since dinosaurs roamed the earth - but what do I do???
