Hi.
DS1 is 9 y/o and has an ex-friend (E) who he stopped being friends with as she would say mean things to/about him and then act like nothing happened. She would also ask him for things from his lunch box and "cry" if he didn't give it to her.
Since their big fall out in October, E constantly lies about him usually to the other children and occasionally to teachers, saying he's said or done things to her when he hasn't, and telling kids they can't trust DS1 because he's from (hometown).
She also lies about other kids sometimes (DS1 said that when a girl brushed past her on the stairs, E told everyone the girl tried to push her down them, there was another example I can't recall).
So far the teacher's solution is to separate them in class and tell them to stay away from each other during play - something DS1 finds hard, as they share friends.
It seemed to have calmed down after the Xmas holidays, but today DS1 tells me that E told another child that he had pushed her against the wall and choked her. I took him straight back to tell Miss as he hadn't already done so and told him that choking is a serious accusation and he must tell his side as soon as possible.
My son is upset and worried that other kids in the class believe her lies and won't want to be friends with him. I'm worried the teachers will eventually believe her lies and my son will be seen as an aggressive bully.
I know parents think the best of their kids, but DS1 is NOT violent, he has always been gentle. He was appalled when I told him that if E ever hit him, I wouldn't blame him for hitting her back "I can't do that Mum, it's wrong and against the rules!"
I didn't think I could hate a child, but I hate the nasty little E. DS1 has been in tears over this!
Has anyone else's kid been targeted via smearing their character to the other children? WTF do you do?
