Bullying by School Head / also Teacher

Child is at an Independant School

They recently came home reporting that they asked for extention work because they were bored in class and that the teacher said it wouldn't be fair to other students if they did other work.

So Parent wrote in asking what extentionwork child was being given.

Instead of responding, said teacher refused to answer, said that the message was accusatory, and tried to set up a 'meeting ' with the school headmaster.

This is not ok. This teacher has a terrible reputation amongst parents for being a bully - yelling at students and pushing back on her terms. She will not be at the school next year. Still questions are:

  • what type of complaint would register with the independant schools inspectorate?
  • can the school 'process' be skirted with the complaint going direct since from experience, it is a cover their back and do what they want type atmosphere?

Thanks
