I cried when I saw this little boy's injuries. It made me think of it happening to my own DS and it absolutely broke my heart. Disgusting that the school has clearly let the bullying continue for two years until it has got to this point. I wouldn't have kept sending my child to school every day if he was suffering so badly though.

It's an assault. I would report it to the police and the local Press if the school doesn't deal with it seriously

That is shocking ! The school should be ashamed for not dealing with that. Why are there such mean children in the world. They should be dealt with at school to stop this .
