Advice/ WWYD about this

I had a meeting with my DC's teacher and the teacher in charge of safeguarding. My DC is being teased about an aspect of their appearance. it is starting to make them really self conscious and I can see it causing self esteem issues in the future. My DC is 9.

During the meeting I was told that even though my DC is saying a number of other children are teasing them, doesn't mean that it is actually happening. Perhaps they are exaggerating.

I came away from the meeting with nothing. No action plan, no commitment to talk to the DC.

How am I supposed to respond to that and WWYD?

In what way do you describe the teasing?
What affect is it having in your child?

Are they upset
Crying
Bed wetting
Refusing school
Losing friends

What are school suggesting doing to help?

Help your child
Address the other kids
Talk about empathy
