Bullying in P1

My DD has been attacked by a certain boy in her class since starting P1. She didn't tell us until Monday past I think it was all getting too much. Finally in class yesterday he attacked her in front of the teacher. He has been excluded for 5 days. I am horrified she's so small not even 5. I'm talking with the deputy head on Friday what should I be asking them to do? TIA

I would be using certain terminology 'schools duty of care' 'locoparentis'

Ask them how they plan to keep your daughter safe.

Log everything. Every incident. Everything the staff say

Follow the meeting up in writing

As per our meeting today we agreed X and you will look at Y and review in Z weeks

Is there another class?

She's just started and you need to look at this as the next 6 years - or longer school wise - she needs to move away from him

My DS was promised to be kept away from a boy - first day he was sat next to him - mmm supply teacher Next day was because of DEpH was in class -!oh then the sports coach and the X YZ visitors - parents on trips etc

I proved they couldn't do it and move my son - whilst wasn't happy to live him - it got him out of that daily atmosphere

Just had a meeting with them, it looks like he will be removed from the class. I will find out next Wed. I let them know that whilst I appreciate that everyone has a right to an education it cannot be at the expense of other children. I also told them that if I felt she was unsafe I would remove her and lodge a formal complaint.

Will she also be safe from him in the playground ?
