Are there any good hands free pumps?

I breast feed my first for around 3 months tried expressing with a hand held pump first time round but didn’t work, this time with my 2nd I want to buy a decent pump so I can breast feed longer/use the breast milk. Formula is so expensive these days!

i want to have the flexibility for my husband to feed the baby with bottles and I was done by 3 months but want to try for longer this time round and I know pumping will help.

Anyway…. I read reviews and read comments on here and are the hand free pumps really as crap as I’m reading? They look easy enough for me to be able to put in my bra and carry on with house work etc etc if needed rather than the ones with the bottle hanging off.

I was looking at the Evie Stride but most of them have a lot of bad reviews.

Has any one had good experiences with them? Or do I just have to buy the non handheld, are they better?

Appreciate any help and advice

I used the other elvie and it was such a waste of time, even as an over supplier I found it disappointing. Momcozy m5 was good until I was established and it’s a bit harder getting the milk out now. Momcozy m6 has been brill & I wish I’d had it from the start! My ride or die is the spectra S1 though, it’s much more efficient but does obviously tie you to the bottles hanging off you which makes it much more difficult (unless like me you use it for 30 mins to yourself with a cuppa). Good luck xx

I have generic in-bra cups paired with an old model Medela which work pretty well but don't collect quite a much as the funnel+bottle set up. I honestly can't imagine any set up that would let you walk around. Even if they were moulded to fit you personally you change shape as soon as you're empty. You'd lose suction and alignment with movement. I think the best you can hope for is hands free to use your phone or a laptop. A friend uses the wireless ones in the pub, but any with wires or tubes are nearly as annoying as a normal one.

I’ve got the eufy hands free. It’s good but I wouldn’t walk around with it. I use it at work and it’s quiet.

Thank you everyone appreciate the advice as it’ll save me money. I think I’m going to maybe look at the wider variety, by the sounds of it the ‘hands free’ ones I’m looking at might be a waste of money if they don’t work as I imagine/hope they would.

I used the original elvie and it worked fine; I walked around (no bending over). I do have fairly small boobs though, not sure if that makes a difference!

I have a few friends who used the original Elvie and they all had issues with them. Apparently the customer service is great and they replace them if there’s issues but it put me off trying them! Don’t know anyone personally who’s used the Stride but I’ve seen lots of negative stuff online. I’ve heard decent things about Momcosy and Pipetta.

I wear my m6 in my bra out and about, just wear something loose. It’s not hugely discreet but workable and worth it to continue your life, also wear them driving and around the house/looking after both my kids (3 and 11m) so they are completely ‘mobile’. Like another poster, not good for properly bending down etc though. No issues with suction or whatever no matter how full/empty, there’s tonnes out there for this exact purpose!
