How are you meant to know which ones are closed pumps?

Just been having a look for a closed breast pump but I can't find the information on if it's closed or open anywhere! Is it worth going for closed or does it not make much difference?

If you are buying secondhand, or thinking of reselling I'd definitely go for closed, but then I'd just go for closed anyway as the description of an open system is truly revolting.

I had the Ameda Lactaline, was brilliant and their spares service is fabulous.

I'd like to buy new but I just have no idea how to figure out which ones are open and which are closed, it doesn't seem to be anywhere on product description.

Don't want to spend a lot as I'd only be using it enough for DP to do the odd bottle feed.

Have you had the baby yet kiwi? If not, I'd leave it and see how things go. If its for the odd bottle you might find you are able to collect leaked milk in breast shells or hand express.

As for your original question, I've got no idea apart from contacting the manufacturers. Know the lactaline and ardo are both closed though Smile
