15 month old suddenly wanting to feed all the time

I'm confused by the sudden change in bfing behaviour of my 15 month old DS and hoping someone can advise.

We've been at 3 feeds a day (before breakfast, after the lunchtime nap, and before bed) for about 3 months now with no problems. Some days he doesn't have the middle feed if I'm at work (I work part-time), or if we're out and about and he's too interested in what's going on.

Suddenly, however, he's wanting to bf all the time. If I'm sitting down he crawls over me and pulls up my top. Even in the supermarket, when he's sitting in the seat in the trolley, he tries to pull up my shirt (much to the amusement of other shoppers).

So what could be going on? Is this normal? He's still eating the same amount of solids, and is a good weight (99th centile). He's still sleeping the same as ever (some nights sleeps through - others wakes once or twice). He never feeds in the night and doesn't feed to sleep. He is on the verge of walking - could this have something to do with it?

I am very happy to keep bfing, but am a little thrown by this behaviour and wondering whether it indicates something else - unhappiness about something, needing extra comfort...?

Any advice much appreciated - thanks

I would say a mix of extra energy to learn to walk and a growth spurt. Or maybe he is ill. It should settle back down soon though .
