Is 10oz too little milk for a 10 month old?

DD2 is just not bothered by milk anymore. SHe dropped her afternoon bottle about 4 weeks ago and her dream feed last week. She now has about 4 oz in the morning - she's offered a 6oz bottle and any remaining goes on her cereal - and about 4oz at bedtime. she is blw, eats like a horse, 3 good meals a day, couple of snacks, with at least 1 yoghurt/fromage frais and usually some cheese somewhere. is that enough dairy for her?
she looks like she is average weight - slimmer than her sisiter was at that age but chub in all the right places!

Sounds like your doing alright, as long as you're giving her dairy alternatives you should be fine.
Ask you Dr or health visitor if you're not sure.
My DD was still drinking plenty breast milk even at 12 months so I didnt have this problem.
You'll only know how much you need to give her if you ask Dr etc.

Does she have other fluids? water offered at meals?

olivo · 20/06/2010 09:27

oh yes, she drinks water at meals and throughout the day at nursery. she has just given up bf which is why i have been a bit unsure of her having enough.
Am afraid the HV and i are not on the best of terms and (am not in UK)have to pay to go to GP so only go if we have to. that's why MN is so useful!

should be fine then. she might really enjoy cow's milk at 12mo too.

My 9 mo Dts have also taken quickly to food (blw with 'spooned' porridge and yog) They are still bf but only one short feed (about 5 min)in am and one long feed at night (10 - 30 min) - no idea how much they get but I don't think it can be much!
They too drink water at meals and seem very healthy and happy.
