Out of interest do formula fed babies have growth spurts in same way as bfed babies?

Just thinking the reason for the near constant feeding during a growth spurt is to increase milk supply, do formula fed babies demand same during a growth spurt?

I found that my 2 did - they wanted feeding more often and took more at a feed and then they started taking less again.
