A subject close to your heart: What do you all think of the minimum price for alcohol being introduced?

(I'm sorry that it's in the feeding section, I couldn't find the one for 'extra curricular activities')

Do you think it's a good idea? Surly people will want to get p*ssed tipsy no matter what the price? Will families who are already living below the poverty line still buy alcohol at the cost of something else? Is it fair?

Yes. Probably. Well thats really a deeper issue which also needs to be tackled of course. Why is it unfair? Alcohol is not a necessity.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/06/2010 20:56

It's not a necessity, however, as the child of an alcoholic, alcohol and cigarettes took priority over food. There would be almost empty cupboards but my father would always have beer. I can't see this changing in a lot of households, surly more expensive beer would make this worse?

Man on radio said it would probaly amount to am extra £160 a year for a hardened drinker. really can't see that making a difference, apart from to their food budget. Seems like rubbish to me!

Could try posting it under "chat" (or food?) if you go through the talk heading at the top of the page. Took me ages to find it...i am rubbish at tech!

x post!

It's just another gimmick.

Rather than tackle the real reasons so many more are binge drinking across the social spectrum.

Alouiseg · 02/06/2010 21:01

I don't see why I should pay more for my Gavi because this country has more than it's fair share of binge drinkers.

I am not responsible for other peoples irresponsible drinking.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/06/2010 21:01

I could post it under chat, I thought it more appropriate to put it under 'bottle feeding'
