Dreaded 4 month growth spurt - tell me it will end soon!

Oh dear, I knew it was coming but my god it's hard! DD3 is 19 weeks and feeds fairly constantly as it is, also she won't sleep on her own so I'm totally touched out. She sleeps attached to my boob in the day and now is clamped on all night too!

I know it's normal and I know it won't last forever but I'm SO shattered and my boobs are shot! All I want to do is go back to bed but don't think DDs 1 & 2 would appreciate that during half term!

omg i remember 4mo growth spurt and can't imagine doing it with other children?!?!??! well done ladies - keep going .

MrsKitty · 01/06/2010 20:00

It will end soon . Wow - bad timing with it being half term. Hopefully the weather will be good and you can turf them out into the garden or spend time sat under a tree at the park feeding whilst your DDs play.

AngelDog · 01/06/2010 20:03

It does end. DS was up 3 or 4 times a night for feeds instead of once or twice (I got off pretty lightly!) Now at 5 months he's back to once or twice again.

Info on the sleep regression/growth spurt here, here, here and here for anyone who's interested.

RubyBuckleberry · 01/06/2010 20:09

haha oh great - i am coming up to the 9mo sleep regression!?

MrsKitty · 01/06/2010 20:13

Ruby I just read that link too - I think I might already be in it... (Bloody hope so or I dread to think what's coming!)

hotbot · 01/06/2010 21:15

Sorry everyone coming up to 8 or 9 months - I hate to be the bearer of bad news!

At least you're prepared now and can repeat It Will Pass with added confidence...

And you can take relief that this time no-one will be suggesting that early weaning is the solution.

Thanks everyone, she had a better night last night, although it still took ages to get her down, but at least I feel fairly human today! Think I might try the park suggestion today if the weather holds out
