Having a 'moment', considering stopping breast feeding...

Dd is 4mo and 15lb. I am at the point where daily 2 hour feeds is getting me down now. I am starting to resent dp just handing her over to me and going off to do something else.

I know Im being selfish but I want a break!

I can express 2oz a day but with a toddler I find that I have to plan when to do it and if Im stressed out it just doesnt work!

Come and talk to me about it - Do I give up, introduce 1 formula feed a day or just get on with it!

Keep going - you've come so far! I found 4-6 months tiring as they growth spurt and feed alot!

Obviously do what you have to do but I am at 8mo and it is MUCH easier! Saying that I only have one so I can only imagine the tiredness with a toddler too!

Shall I keep writing with exclamation marks! .

4 month is classic growth spurt - it will get easier from now on. Plus you've put all the hard work in until now and in the months to come you'll reap the rewards- it will be easier to BF than to formula feed with the extra work that that involves. I am BF a 3 month old DS2 with DS1 around and can't imagine needing to take time out from both of them to make up feeds and do the extra sterilising etc. Keep going!

4 months is so hard. I found the easiest way to get through it was to look at what else I could change to make things easier. So dh couldn't feed her but he could do nappies and cook and settle her etc. Try and find as many ways as possible to make your life easier.

Thanks all, you have made me feel better about it.

I hope that it is a growth spurt. It just seems like she is feeding loads more these past 2 weeks then ever!
