Ebf 16wk old and thinking of bottles and returning to work

Ds is 16wks and on the 19th July I am going back to work. I am lucky as I am a teacher and then I have the hols off, but just starting to wonder about those 3 days. Dh is having him. Ds is ebf and we have not really tried bottles. Should I start trying now and does anyone have any tips. Have great milk supply but just can't seem to be able to express much. Would it be best to get ds used to formula in the bottle. I have a v short lunch break of 40mins so not sure dh will have time to bring ds up and for me to feed.

so your DS will be 22 weeks (ish) when you go back?

can you feed before work?

you may find that your DS will take a bottle when you aren't there

if you get into an expressing routine you may be able to build it up

the more regularly you express the easier it becomes (i have found the best time is after the first feed of the day)

you can express and add to it (will have to check kellymom) so you can get a few ounces

he may not feed much when you are away but then leap on you when you get back

my DD is 8 months and i will be back at work in 10 days - she doesnt take a bottle but she is weaned so she eats plenty and takes water in the day

Yes, I would be getting her used to taking a bottle from DH, ideally ebm but formula if you really can't get on with expressing.

I may have a go when dd is at nursery tomorrow with the expressing. DH is off next week, so may be a good time to have a go with the bottle. Any bottle/teat tips for a 16wk old.
