Frequency of pooing in a bottle fed baby?

Hello.
I've just abandoned breast feeding due to painful boobs and really not enjoying it this time round (DD was BF until 8 months) and have started my 6-week old on formula. He poos about once or twice a day and DH is a bit concerned he might be constipated, having pooed at every feed previously. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please? Is DS pooing normally or should I be concerned?

I think as long as the poos look normal (ie not hard and not like rabbit droppings) then he is not constipated. Once or twice a day is on the frequent side for my bottle fed baby.

Both of mine would go once a day usually on formula. Occasionally twice a day (but smaller ones)

My little one goes about every other day on formula. Like the OP said as long as the poos are not hard or they seem to be straining then it's OK.

my lo's sometimes went 2-3 days between poos on formula but as it was still soft when it arrived they werent constipated. 1-2 times a day doesnt sound like constipation to me.

Sounds entirely normal - my DD who is FF and 4 months old normally poos twice a day.

My FF son sometimes went 4 or 5 days without poo-ing. Was normal for him.
