Gripe water resulted in huge sick explosion!

Just tried gripe water for the first time and DS2 was very sick (albeit with a huge burp!) and I think he must have pretty much thrown up his entire feed. I've heard good things about gripe water, so I'm wondering if anyone has had the same experience and if they had any solutions? Obviously I won't continue to give it if it makes him sick. I am wondering whether it might work better to be given at beginning of feed? Has anyone tried that?

we had the same the first time we used it-ried it again a little bit longer after the feed and it was ok

thanks for posting mrspir8. we tried giving it before the feed this evening and nothing, no burps or anything. i'll try again tomorrow and follow your advice - how long after feed did you leave it? 10 minutes?

We had the first time as well - the most extraordinary Exorcist rope of puke just erupted from her. Was fine after that I think (lost in the sleep haze!).

thanks dita. we'll keep trying then! can't believe the eruption the first time and then nothing two following times of using.
