Hi, my dd is 10 months old and is 25th centile (was 50th at birth but has satyed on this since 5 months old)

We have blw and exclusivley bfed her. I plan to carry on bfeeding until she's 12 months old.

However- her weight drops every couple of weeks and then she puts on- so she's only increasing her weight slowly. She is very active and crawling about and loves veg and I cook very healthy meals but try to beef her up on little stars and avacado etc. The problem I have is on the charts she's tiny and compared to most other babies her age and younger she is really slim (her height is 50th). I'm worried about things like car seats etc- it feels like she will be rear facing until she's 5 at this rate

I bfeed her around 3 times a day- I had dropped it to 2 times but he weight suffered. She's fed when she wakes in the morning, before morning nap and about 6pm before bath time- as her dad puts her to bed now and she sleeps thriugh

What will happen when I stop bfeeding her? Will her wieght plummett? Should I give her formula? Everyone is always telling me how tiny she is compared to their DC's or Gdc's who are bottle fed and its worrying.

All sounds fine to me, sounds as if you are doing all the right things. When you stop breastfeeding you will presumably switch to other milk (i.e. cow's milk once she is over one), so she will still be getting the calories from it. No need to stop breastfeeding prematurely because of this, I wouldn't worry about it. And being small enough to fit in rear facing car seat for longer is not a bad thing! Had to move my giant DS out earlier than I would ideally have liked.
