Ds has just gone to bed with a beaker of milk instead of a boob for the first time. He's 17 months old.

Im getting married in 10 days, are my boobs going to sag or engorge ? Is my dress going to fit ? Will they bare any resemblance to the boobs of my pre children days and how long does it take to get them back to normal ?

Also, I've read about an emotional lul after stopping, how common is it to feel bad ?

I'm already a bit sad about it.

I cried for a week after finishing bf my DS. It is sad isn't it. You'll feel better soon. Well done for carrying on with it for so long!

Depends how much you were feeding him - I stopped suddenly at 2/3 feeds a day when DS was 8 months, because he was biting me every time and I couldn't take the Russian Roulette any more! I became hugely engorged for about a week and then it slowly settled after about 2 weeks. Still had milk there for a month or so.

Other friends who stopped after getting down to one feed a day reported no engorgement, just a bit of a reduction in size. You might find you need to take dress in a bit, esp if it's a strapless. I've had to buy new bras, my boobs are smaller now then they were before I was preg!

I felt terrible, weepy, sad hormonal for about 10 days / 2 weeks after stopping bf each time. Then I felt wonderful, amazing, fabulous, revitalised..... it really was quite a drastic turn around. Each time I stopped my breasts were stretched small and saggy (spaniels ears!) for quite some time, but they slowly recovered themselves over a period of 6 months or so. It is now approx 6 months since I stopped feeding DC3 and I'd say they are pretty much the same as they were pre children (I mean I'm older and saggier generally.... but not sure the bf has made much difference!).
