Hmmm are DD's 6-8 wet nappies heavy enough?

Had a right old time of bfeeding and DD was given top ups from 2weeks old due to losing 14% bodyweight. Tongue tie snipped at 7 weeks and by 11weeks feeding and weight gain showed a massive improvement. My supply increased ALOT since DD was better at extracting milk. Anyhow it got to point where we were possibly overfeeding her (as kept top ups the same despite the increase in my supply) as she was being quite sicky and gaining 540g in 10days (she gained 1.1Kg in 4weeks!!!) so bfeeding counsellor suggested trying to reduce the top ups and keep an eye on her nappies that she still had the 6-8 wet nappies (she only tends to poo once every 6days or so and has been like that for a few weeks now). Anyhow she is 13.5 weeks and for the last week or so have reduced her top ups so basically she just has a 5 or 6oz bottle of formula before bed and the rest is breastfeeding (considering some of her top ups consisted of me pumping straight after a feed and giving it too her it made more sense to just keep her on the boob!), she was doing feeds in 20mins but in last couple of days she has been feeding a lot more but she had her jabs last week and I think she is a bit under the weather from them.

Anyhow her nappies have gone from being heavy to medium weight (like they do weigh more than a dry nappy and you know they are fairly wet but they aren't heavy nappies like they were before) She is still defo getting 6-8 wet nappies a day just they are definitely less heavy than before. Her fontanelle is fine and she is alert and fine just grumpy due to the jabs rather than hunger I think. But obviously I don't want to starve her! I figure the more liquid you put in the more that comes out so obviously since her liquid intake has been reduced she might have less output but she is still getting the 6-8 wet nappies a "well baby" should have but am just a bit worried they are not "wet and heavy enough" for a well baby!

She is being weighed by the HV on Thurs but different scales to the bfeeding group ones and trying not to get her weighed too often as I was getting really obsessed by it. Hopefully she will still be gaining though.

Do her nappies sound okay or should I increase her top ups again? (She used to take anything between an extra 2oz in a day to 10oz in a day on top of her 5/6oz bedtime bottle)

Gah this parenting malarky is a minefeld!

I could have written your post. My DS is 6 weeks old and EBF with a bottle at bedtime. He also has lots of wet nappies as in you can tell that they are quite wet but they're not absolutely drenched. I'd say that 3 a day are totally drenched and 3-4 are properly wet but not heaving.

Don't know if that helps at all. I am also totally obsessed with his weight gain but he's happy as can be, sleeping well, playing nicely and contentedly in his gym or on his may and my boobs go from full to empty.
