Cluster feeding in the morning??

My little boy was born on 16th April and I've been exclusively breastfeeding him. I've had excellant support from NCT and the hospital hence have found it very easy. He seems to change his feeding patterns day to day, some days 3 hourly, others 2 hourly oftern cluster feeding in the evenings. However, for the past few days, he seems to want to feed continuously from 9am to 11am. Today I fed him at 7.15am for 45 minutes, got him washed and dressed, then he started rooting at about 9am. I fed him at 9am then twice more until 11am. He sometimes falls asleep whilst feeding but each time I put him down, he woke up rooting again until the final time at 11am. Has any one else experienced this? Do I need to do domething differently? Any advice greatly appreciated

My DS is now 16wks and often does a similar thing - has a couple of feeds close together in the morning. I think he just wakes up hungry. Unless you've got other things to do in the morning (e.g. school run?) I think it's best to just go with it. When he falls asleep while feeding you could try to wake him up and encourage him to keep feeding. I find that a tickle around the neck and ear will get my DS feeding again!
