9 week EBF baby sleeping 7 hours at night

Hi, my baby is 9 weeks old and EBF. Last night and on Saturday night he slept for 6/7 hours straight. Whilst this is great for my tiredness levels I am worried that if he starts doing this regularly my milk supply will drop. Am I being overly concerned?

He has been gaining weight well but has always been a small baby (just over the 9th centile line on the graph).

Also, I have only been totally demand feeding for a week or so as he had prolonged jaundice (which has now resolved) and I was waking him every 3 hours if he did not wake himself.

Thanks

My DD1 did something similar at a similar age. Like you baby she was on a very low percentile of weight but fine. It quickly stopped when she hit the 3/4 month growth spurt and she was waking up a billion times a night and didn't start sleeping through reliably until 18 months . enjoy it, if he seems ok he knows what he is doing

Sounds like he likes to sleep. DS2 (5 weeks) sleeps from 8pm until 2am most nights.

He has his 2am feed and then is off again until 6am.

I think demand feeding really lets them find the right pattern (i.e days awake and eating and nights for sleeping) a lot easier/better.

My baby is 18 weeks and slept for many hours each night from about six weeks. I am just grateful for it! She is on the small side (25th centile), but I think as long as they remain on their centile line there's no cause for concern.

She is still EBF, and always has been fed on demand. From about nine weeks her bedtime got earlier and earlier, and now she sleeps 7pm to about 6am (has done for a couple of months). My milk supply is fine, although sometimes I wake at about 5am and have to feed her because I am rather sore, but nothing unbearable, just the side effect of not feeding for 11 hours straight!

iirc it was around 8-9 wks when ds (also ebf) suddenly started dropping night feeds of his own accord and by 10/11wks he was sleeping 7-8hr stretches at night (til 6mo when he suddenly starting waking every 2-3hrs again so enjoy it while it lasts )

my ds was the same until about 12-14 weeks i think - if your baby is gaining weight/wet nappies/pooey nappies/happy boy then fine enjoy it!!! it might not last - and they grow when they sleep so he is just putting all that milk to good use !
