DS 9 weeks is driving me mad! Legs moving, arms figiting, on and off, playing around! If he is really hungry he is still and gulping, if just 'topping up' he drives me mad!

First of all do you have a fast let down, maybe he is a little shocked at the force of your milk? Second I recently invested in a breastfeeding necklace, it has worked a charm on my dd 14 weeks, she used to slap and pinch my boobs! Hope this helps...

My DS is 5 month old and fidgets and moves and waves and grabs! If he's really hungry or sleepy he's still. He's definitely taken by surprise sometimes by the flow so maybe this is the same for you? Is he worse after a long gap so you have more milk and it maybe flows too fast? I'm almost at the stage where I can't feed him in public anymore because he's so nosey and comes off constantly to look round and see what's going on. Do you cover him with anything? Might make him feel a bit more cocooned. Is it usually quiet and calm or noisy and bright where you feed him and he fidgets? There may be a pattern you haven't spotted. Maybe he doesn't want to be topped up and prefers to just feed when hungry. My DS is like that sometimes. Hope that's of some use. Good luck!

Thanks ladies......after the nappies yesterday I think I maybe over feeding!!

Love the necklace idea. Yes, the flow is so fast sometimes.

I have found laying down at night, the milk goes up his nose! I am so tired though, feel bad I really should sit up!

My 9 week out son does this too! Not every feed, just sometimes.

Btw, what is a 'breastfeeding necklace'?? I've never heard of that.

my 4month old also gets very easily distracted now, have to move to a quiet room away from the big brother or she woudn*t feed. A necklace really helps as well, but I just have a regular one.
what also works for us is to keep the feeds a bit longer apart, so that she really is hungry.
