One year old baby grinding teeth against me whilst feeding

dd2 is now just turned one year and has started rubbing her teeth against the areola whilst she is feeding. My poor breast has teeth marks just above the nipple after a feed and its really painful.

It's mostly when I'm feeding her lying down - but as she is now so old - I only tend to feed her in bed. She does it about 90% of the time now and it started a couple of months ago.

I planned to bf up until she was 2 but am starting to think of stopping now as it is so sore.

Has anyone experienced this and overcame it? I found that there is lots of help for new babies but surely i shouldn't be having problems a year into feeding???

Tell her to stop it! Take her off and say no, very firmly and repeat if she does it again. She'll soon get the picture.

dd went through a stage of biting me and I did exactly what debka says (after posting on here for advice).

Someone posted this link I remember, which I found useful.

Thanks for info. The link was very good and described exactly what I needed to do. Its not that she bites - it just seems that the latch is poor and I have indentations of her teeth against the areola!
