bottle or cup for milk at 12 mo? (weaning from BF)

DD has just turned one and I'm trying to wean her off BF. I think I should really be weaning her onto a cup for her milk (she drinks water a-plenty out of a tommee tippee) but can't quite decide if a bottle would be easier - she still more or less feeds to sleep at bedtime and whilst I know a cup of milk would totally break that association, I worry about how on earth I'll get her to sleep then.

Is it madness to consider a bottle at this stage and should I go straight to the cup and hope she'll gradually wean off the BF as she takes more milk from her cup?

And get DH involved in bedtimes, so I don't have to work it out he can make up for not being able to enjoy bedtimes with her till now - any thoughts / experiences to share on this?

I wouldnt bother with a bottle as you are supposed to be stopping them around 1 year old anyway to help protect their teeth.

I agree with Seona, go straight to a cup, I've found those tommee tippee ones fine (also fairly cheap and not fiddly). You might find that the association with sleep is still there (if all other cues remain the same) but she might not drink that much milk, not sure how much of a problem that is. Good sign that she already drinks water from the cup though.

Don't go to a bottle! My friend did that and she has only just weaned her 2.5yr old off it at night.
