Bottle of EBM at 2 weeks

BF counsellor suggested starting EBM at 2 weeks and I'm wondering how likely one bottle a day, at about 11pm, always given by daddy is to lead to nipple confusion if introduced at this point. I have bought a Breastflow bottle. I am completely exhausted and DH is back to work tomorrow plus I have 2 school age children and need to be up and out by 8.15, DH leaves at 7am so not able to do much in the mornings.

Up until now DH has been staying up with the baby until about 1am, I'm feeding all evening and going to bed at 10.30 ish and DH is giving him a syringe of EBM, which I think gets mostly spat out, but the baby is completely unsettled at this time. All completely normal I know but I absolutely cannot function without getting that couple of hours sleep early in the night and with DH back to work tomorrow he really needs to get to bed by about 11.30. Hence an 11pm EBM bottle should in theory see the baby through until about 1am when I'll feed him throughout the night as needed.

I don't want to lead to BF problems but equally I don't have strong feeling against bottles and indeed do want a baby who can be left for an evening where necessary.

hello I personally don't think 1 bottle at bedtime will lead to nipple confusion, my dd was bf and had the occasional bottle of either EBM or formula so that I could get the rest I needed to function and keep going with the bfing all day!!! If he is bfing well and there are no other issues then I would imagine it would be o.kay.

My DD had a bottle once a day from day one, not through choice initially I admit, but I carried it on as it worked so well. For us, it never lead to any nipple confusion or any problems at all.

I bf for 9 months in the end, so it really did no harm for us.
