7 week old still feeding every 2 hours day and night

Dd2 was admitted to scbu at 5 days and we stayed there for 8 days (severe jaundice and strep infection). I think she is still catching up and has gone from being off the weight charts at discharge to the 25 th percente. Thing is she is ravenous all the time Nd it's taking it's toll. I have given her a coue of 5am top ups because it's the only way I can get a bit of sleep before my 4 year old gets up and needs to get ready for pre school. Will thiscalm downsoon? I really want to carry on but I am feeding for 10 to 12 hours and it's not sustInable.

All things will change. There really is light at the end of the tunnel, keep going you are giving your DD what she needs. Her tummy is tiny (think about a marble). She had a wobble at the start of her life. I'm sure you are right, she is catching up. It will calm down. How old is she now?

Sometimes things are slowly changing and we don't notice. With DD2 I didn't realise that she really was sleeping more at night and feeding less. On the recommendation of a fried from LLL I wrote down feeds and times for 1 24 hour period and the a week later did the same. I could then see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But, it's good to hear people say that it will get better, but I know that doesn't stop the frustration and tiredness now.

One thing I've tried this past week is giving ds a ff as his last feed of the day (around 10-11pm). This seems to make him sleep longer than if I bf him at the last feed.

It will get better. This is within the realms of normal.

Please, please ASK for help. The offers dry up by this stage, I'm sure more so with your second than with your first. Call in any favours you can to let you have a wee bit of rest.
