Moving from formula to cow's milk at 1 year

How do I store the milk during the night for my dd? Do I have to go downstairs to get the fresh milk for her in the middle of the night or is there a cleverer way of doing this? Thx.

Is she still desperately needing the milk in the night?

In this weather, I'd say to keep it in the fridge.

Oooh, or you could use follow on milk for night feeds?

Never came across the problem... my DD is too much like me and wanted her nighttime sleep more than the feed.

well, tbh you aren't supposed to leave formula out all night either so i don't think it'd make a difference!

Agree, I say getting her to sleep through the night would be the thing to tackle.

Starlover... when DD was needing night feeds still we had the water ready, and then just chucked in the powder when she woke.

Jess still occasionally wakes for a night bottle, nut if we dream feed her at about 11 she seems ok.

On the nights she doesnt dream feed, we take a bottle of cows milk up when we go up and feed it to her - she's been fine!

well we used to make bottles up and keep them in the fridge and just microwave them in the night.
because the formula ds was on would only mix with warm water.

so we changed formula! lol

Yes you're right, hoping in two months that she won't need a night feed (and doesn't often now), just was wondering on the rare nights that she does, what to do. But suppose it's up and down the stairs for me. Just trying to get my head round these things as I'm due with number two in Oct, and think I'm still in denial!

If your 1year old really needs a milk feed at night, I would use follow on milk.
I used to keep a flask of warm water upstairs (the exact amount I needed for a bottle) and the powder in a dispenser and just mix it when required. I didn't really need to be too awake to do that which helped.
Is she really hungry at night? Maybe it's something else (too hot/cold/too much sleep during the day).

She was a great sleeper until 5 months old when she went to nursery for 3 days a week. Now the little monkey turns herself onto her front, and gets stuck, so wakes herself up rather confused.

Start maternity leave next week, so then will get strict with her!

all ican say Tew is you have more patience than me! Considering we are both about to drop and have young ones, i cant even be botheredto try and be strict over night feeds. If my baby wants it - she can have it!

Dream feed at 11 usually works for us, and she then sleeps through til 7, but i havent got the energy to be "training" her at the moment.... and will probabyl have even less when the baby is born, but oh well!!! She's my baby for now and I'm spoiling her rotten!

I know Jandbmummy, rather sad to think that they'll no longer be our baby! But can't face the thought of two children waking in the night, so am determined to crack it before Oct! There is no reason why she can't go through the night, was always a great sleeper, just got into bad habits I fear!

Will do, it's really worth the battle, and at our daughters' age, there is no reason why they should be waking - unless they're ill of course!
