Hi

I have a little girl who is about to turn 1. I am trying to slowly introduce cows milk to her but shes having none of it. She will eat it fine on her cereal but wont entertain drinking it from her cup. Any ideas how i can get her to take it. I was thinking of mixing it with some of her formula milk but i dont know if this is safe to do? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Hi My DD is 16 month and is still the same, dont worry to much.

I have started making her a cup of tea when i have mine in a morning or so she thinks lol.
I literally put a little boling water and fill it up with cows milk it works for some reason

My DD is now on the 1year plus formula so i know shes getting vitamins n stuff from that.

Also recently i have been buying strawberry milk and this goes down a treat.

it's fine to mix it with her formual until she gets more used to the taste, so don't worry about it, and there is no harm in giving follow on milk

personally i would avoid flavoured mikl, simply for the amount of sugar in them

also, she wil l get calcium etc from cheese and yoghurt.

With my two DDs I spent a week or so doing half and half formula and cow's milk, then upped the cows milk level and reduced formula and we had a pretty smooth transition. I'll start doing the same with DS shortly. Also, I carried on using a bottle for their bedtime milk (although switched to cows milk) until about 15 months rather than making the change from formula and to a cup all at once.

You can mix formula and cows milk, which is what I did. It took us about a week to get DS from 100% formula to 100% cows milk.
And like Nelly, I kept using a bottle to trick him into thinking nothing had changed!

I know Lulumama says you shouldn't give flavoured milk because of the sugar content, and of course she's right, but my ds went through a similar phase and I used to make him milk shakes, a banana blended with some milk went down really well with him, but also some frozen strawberries or raspberries.

Are you warming it up? It tastes much sweeter when its warm.

Ive tried warming it up but she takes one mouthful and throws her bottle.
I think ill try mixing the formula and cows milk. Thanks for the help
