Could this be the start of self-weaning?

My DS aged 2.10 is still BF sometimes. He is autistic. I have been doing the "don't offer, don't refuse" strategy for months.

Recently he has been covering me up, or latching on then off then staring at my nipple and playing with it.

When hurt or upset he hasn't been going for me as the first port of call for comfort.

Are these signs of it do you think?

I feel very stupid asking this

I felt stupid asking because you'd think I would know the signs after BF for so long, but I haven't done it before so I don't, not really. Will it be another few months / years?

Just wondered if anyone else had any experience of it. Also I was a BabyWorld-er for the first year of DS' life so there were lots of "is my six week-old self-weaning?" threads to which the answer was always yes so that doesn't help.
