Why is my milk coming out brown?

I woke up last night with a blocked duct. Have been doing everything to clear it.

The milk out of the infected duct is brown. Is this normal? Exceptionally gross, yes, but normal?

Is it blood? There are teeny tiny little dots too of what could be blood. Way smaller than biro-dot-size and dark brown.

All other ducts producing milk the colour of Cravendale. Just the painful one being gross.

Mastitus is horrid.

I thought I'd sorted it but now it's getting redder and angrier and spreading to my armpit. Boo. Have been feeding ds in extreme pain ALL DAY.

Headache. Nausea. Hot and cold fluey symptoms. Dh not back from work until late tonight.

Would anyone like to come to my pity party?

get yourself some antibiotics woman! i am recovering from mastitis (same symptoms as you!) at the moment, and it is very grim, but 3 days of amoxicillin have sorted me out - pain almost completely gone.
