are these blocked blocked milk ducts?

have two white spots on breasts and it is hot and hard on that side. what should i do? are they blocked milk ducts? sorry for typing, trying to feed from that breast.

anyone? really painful!

Sounds like it if they are actually on the nipple itself, I had the same thing earlier this week. I sorted mine out by encouraging baby to feed on that side for as long as possible, then used a very hot flannel on the whole boob followed by fairly hard massaging of the breast and finally, the blister or 'bleb' as it's called on some websites (no idea why!) burst and squirted milk across the bathroom!!! Have kept my eye on it but, so far, it hasn't come back. Good luck!

thanks, it isn't actually on the nipple (I had one of those in the week!!) it is on my breast. So tender I can barely touch it. I have been putting hot flannels, trying to massage and will just carry on feeding. Not sure what else I can do. It is very painful though. Honestly, why can't breastfeeding be easier than this?!

watch out you don't get mastitis. if it's sore or you start feeling poorly i'd go get it checked by the doctor. i've had mastitis several times and it started with a sore small hot lump each time. i have sometimes nipped it in the bud by feeding lots (changing position a lot to focus on different parts of the breast) or by manually expressing in a hot bath.

thanks, that is what I was worried about. Seems a bit better this morning as fed using rugby hold and painful bits were on the underside of my breast so I think that helped. Also had a hot bath.
