DS is 8mo and until a couple of weeks ago was BF (apart from a 11pm bottle of ff each night from 4mo)

After a great deal of thought I've decided to stop BF and am doing it slowly - cutting out one feed every few days. I'm now down to a BF at bedtime (7pm) with the FF at 11pm and another BF around 3am. He had been sleeping through until around 6am-ish before I started cutting out the boob so this 3am thing is a bit of a regression.

During the day I'm giving 6oz of follow-on formula at around 7am, 11.30am and 4pm. Thing is, he's weeing like a racehorse.. much wetter nappies than before including waking up soaking in the night.

So am I doing this transition from BF to FF wrong? Feel like I've got myself in a bit of a pickle

just to add that I'm offering water from a TT spouted cup with meals too.. which he'll have a little go on but no great shakes. Double ...

maybe it is just time to move up a nappy size than anything to do with the change in milk. DS had just cut down from 5 feeds to 4 at this age when he gave up his night feed and his times were 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm alongside his meals at 8am, 12noon and 5pm.

Thanks, Seona. I boosted his cloth nappy to giant proportions and successfully shushed him back to sleep at 3am instead of feeding so it's coming together a bit better now.

I can see now that it wasn't a major problem, I'm just over-thinking it because I'm finding giving up BF a bit harder than I thought.
