Feeling very proud of myself

Well DD was 6 months on Wednesday and after a few set backs breastfeeding is still going well and I am so pleased to have kept going this long.

We have overcome
cracked nipples
2 bouts of mastitis
blocked ducts
preference for one side (once at birth and then at 20 weeks)
cluster feeding for 5 hours non stop
drop in supply (rectified by fenugreek)

Each time I offered formula it was flatly refused so here we are at 6 months and I am just loving it now. And believe me if I could have given up at the cluster feeding stage I gladly would have but DD had other ideas.

I just wanted to say to all those mums who are having problems, it does get easier so please stick with it if you can. Just take each feed at a time.

Also a BIG thankyou to those on Mumsnet who have given me advise when I have felt dispair, you have really helped me.

Thanks all, I do think it has a lot to do with DD refusing formula that pushed me beyond when I would have been happy to stop. But once you are past that point it's all free wheeling downhill.
