Sorry quick post. I need to take PROCHLORPERAZINE 5MG for a vertigo condition I have. My GP and the ENT consultant could NOT confirm whether it was suitable to take whilst BF. I have started getting the vertigo really bad since Sunday and need to take but apprehensive to. What is the BFN no to call and does anyone know the Meds website to check.

TIA

PS) I am BF my 8 1/2month old

Hi

Try lactamed

MrsBadger · 11/03/2010 08:40

from lactamed:

'Summary of Use during Lactation:
Based on minimal excretion of other phenothiazine derivatives, it appears that occasional short-term use of prochlorperazine for the treatment of nausea and vomiting poses little risk to the breastfed infant.'
