ok 2nd timer, but ds was in nicu so expressed for 1st week. dd was born tue evening, feeding on demand, 1st 24 hours sge was sleepy only fed ever 4 hours, fri she woke up fed every 2 hours or so. haven't had the huge boobs/flu feeling i had with ds and not feeling a let down when she sucks yet. if i hand express drops are whitish, but not squirting out ifykwim. almost like w white colostrum, so i think milk hasn't come in yet.... if not is this normal and can i do anything (she is starting to get a bit of jaundice, so am worried about her getting milk)

Are you hearing lots of sucks and swallows when she is feeding and getting plenty of wet nappies?

To ensure you get a good milk supply going feed regularly ( like every 2 hours) and keep offering both sides. This will also help with the jaundice. Put her moses basket/pram by a window so she gets lots of sunlight (well it might not be sun!)

With my first DS I had to express in hospital as he had difficulty latching. I think I might of developed an oversupply because of it as it took a while for everything to calm down.

With my second DS I didn't even bother expressing for the first couple of months. I definitely felt less engorged etc but made the right amount of milk for him as he really did pile on the weight at the beginning.

Your probably find in the next day or two your milk is really beginning to increase in supply.

it's not really a supply thing (as yet), as still waiting for milk to come in..... guess i am after reassurance that it's normal for 2nd time mum to have to wait 5 days for milk to come in (am begining to worry)
