can i be sterilized while im still breastfeeding my baby

my baby is nearly 6 months old and i want to continue breast feeding her until shes a year old if i can. I do not want more children, she is my 5th baby, will i be able to be sterilized without it affecting my milk supply? has anyone else been through this? will i need tp express my milk and if so for how long?

I don't know of any reason why not, as long as you tell the anaesthetist you are BF so they give you suitable drugs for the op. I had my first CS under GA and BF afterwards no probs.

Usually a day case so shouldn't need to stay in unless any complications IIRC

will i have to express and store milk before the op and what about after how long until i can breastfeed again? does anyone know?
