Feeding pattern for BF baby sleeping longer at night

Hi,

11 week DS (excl BF) has started to sleep for longer stretches at night (up to 7 hours on occasion). I assumed he would compensate by feeding more often during the day but if anything he seems to want to spread out his daytime feeds too. He was feeding 8-9 times a day but is now usually 6 or 7; I offer him more times than this but he does not seem interested beyond comfort sucking. Is he too young to be spreading out/dropping his feeds like this?

He seems healthy (having wet and dirty nappies, active and alert when awake). Weight gain was ok, will be weighing again next week.

my ds is almost 10 weeks old and excl bf..... he sleeps though night between 9 and 11 hours.... and only feeds 6 times a day so dont worry..... as long as he keeps putting on weight!!! think yourself very lucky to be getting some sleep!!! (I know i do)my ds was 15lb 3ozs so a big boy and still only feeds 6 times..... however with such a good sleep at night this means every 2 hours in day (well you cant have it both ways can you) xx

he was 15lb 3 ozs last week.....not at bith LOL.... was a very small 10lb 11 ozs at birth!!!!!!!

As long as he is still gaining weight it is absolutely fine. He is probably just getting more efficient at filling up at each feed

Just brace yourself for the 16 week growth spurt

Thanks for the reassurance.

He decided to stop my worrying by bringing back one of his night feeds overnight! Guess you really can't have it both ways
