Can what you eat make your baby sick when he breastfeeds?

My 8 week son is thriving on the bfing now. However last night again he vomitted a lot all over me-.
he had fed for 45 mins so there was a lot of vomit. Two days ago the same happened- massive amount of vomit. Now I am not worried as i know babies vomit and as long as he has kept milk down after, which he has, there should not be a problem. But I am wondering if something I ate set him off.

I think on both days i had had a warm mug of hot chocolate so am wondering if the warm milk I drank has affected him?

I am cutting it out for now to see- he could be a little intolerant of cows milk maybe?

He also had his first round of jabs yesterday and all he wants to do today is sleep- he has fed today and seems well.

anyone experienced this or is it totally separate from my milk affecting him?

Diet can affect babies through breastmilk, but most of the time, it doesn't. The milk being warm vs cold definitely wouldn't have made a difference - is this really the first time you have had cow's milk in the last 8 weeks?

It's also normal to be sleepy after jabs and likely to be completely unrelated

My 7 1/2 week old DD throws up any time from immediately after feeds to 2-3 hours afterwards. the longer the period since she has fed the more partly digested milk and smell of stomach acid after feeds. she has started to be sick a lot more in the last two days and a lot more today. she has been putting on weight fine at least an ounce a day and weighs 12lb 5oz. I was getting a bit worried a hour or so ago as she has not really slept since 8:30 this morning, just 15 mins here and there. Has hsa been feeding a lot more frequently today, not sure if it because she has been bringing a lot up??

typing this has reassured me a bit and I will take her to the doctors on Monday if she carries on being sick.

She has her jabs next week.

thanks guys

pugwash- your baby sounds like she is gaing weight well- my son is too.

maybe it is just a coincidence- i have very little milk on my breakfast but both days i had had hot milk in a mug- apart from that i rarely drink milk so just thought it could be that. he is 14 ibs so weight gain is fine- maybe he just guzzled too much milk.

It was such a shock as he has hardly regurgitated anything since he was born.

He was sooo sleepy from the jabs- and today too.
