Dd2 is only 1 day old but Im not convinced she is taking in anything when she feeds.

I have heard of things that can help your milk supply and wonder what anyone has tried.

Thanks

I didn't think my children were taking in anything either - about the only way you can tell is seeing whether she does wet nappies!

At one day old though your milk probably hasn't come in, the baby suckling like mad for the first couple of days is what stimulates the body to produce milk.

Someone will be along in a minute more knowledgeable than me.

I got so paranoid with ds1 I even weighed a wet nappy at one point

He was getting plenty!

Oh and Congratulations on your baby!!

You only have colostrum at the moment,in a couple of days your milk will come in and you will feel more confident that she is getting plenty as your chest will be HUGE.Babies are designed to only take in small amounts of colostrum for the first few days. The way to make sure your supply gets off to a good start and you make plenty of milk is just to feed, feed, feed.Whenever your dd is awake, try her and let her feed when she wants for as long as she wants.Congrats by the way!

Congratulations on your new baby At one day old, she is taking in tiny amounts of colostrum, and should be feeding lots and lots. Keep her close, skin to skin if possible, and let her suckle as much as she likes
