My 3 month old baby sleeps 19-21 hours a day this past few days. I am very concerned. I'm going to take her to the doctor tomorrow. Anyone else in the same situation?

URM, I would be taking her straight to A&E tbh.

Is she responsive etc?

Feeding ok?

I agree. That's pretty extreme. At least I'd be ringing her ped.

tortoise - UK mothers don't have paediatricians to ring.

Natheen - your baby needs to see a doctor urgently and probably A&E, not the GP.

TikTok, OP is in Canada.

Oh right....she still needs to see a doc urgently, IMO.

OP - I hope all is well.

My daughter woke up from her sleep and was wide awake for 6 hours during the night. That's a good sign. She still has a doctor's appointment today in the evening.

Hope it's all okay, Natheen.

Tiktok, we don't have them in Australia, either, much, but I hang out on an American parenting website (with a lot of Canadians) and they all seem to ring their peds (see, I even have the American spelling down) pretty much constantly. I mean by that that it seems like a fairly standard part of the service to expect late night phone calls from worried parents!

How did her appt go Natheen?

Natheen · 04/02/2010 04:57

The doctor checked her weight, she gained one pound in two weeks. She is now 13 llbs and 10 oz, he is very happy with her weight. I am still concerned about her breathing and her refusal to the bottle, I don't want to always force feed as that's creating a bad environment for her.
