Help! breast-fed baby hates expressed milk from a bottle

Hello. I am new to Mum's net so hope this works!
My baby is 3 months old and loathes with a passion drinking expressed breat milk from a bottle. We have tried: 3 different teats / Hot and cold / Freshly milked / Different times of day / Daddy or Nana doing it with Mum not even in line of vision....
Does anyone have any advice? I want him to take to it so that he can be fed by his Daddy - for the bonding, and for the occasional opportunity for me to have a break!

Hi Quinster,

Some BF babies can be very stubborn, my DS was and it took some time to get him used to it, i think about 2weeks in the end!! Also its alot of effort as they need to constantly suck whereas the breast it flows easily.

But we found that after a while he started to refuse it so gave it to him in a sipping cup, and he took it straight away.

But also remember he is only 3 months and god do i know how tiring it can be and longed for breaks, He is still that young where he needs the comfort of mum (and there not like that for very long!!)

HTH xx

Some babies have difficulty switching between breast and bottle.

When using a bottle at first hold the bottle to your breast so that the baby gets used to it before getting anyone else to try to give a bottle.

Your baby is only just on the age for having a bottle when breast feeding, as starting too early causes nipple confusion and using bottles regularly may mean the baby will be less willing to nurse at the breast.

Leave it for a week or so and start again.
