I was thinking that I would like to do something useful with my life.

I was thinking something like a breastfeeding counsellor. I just checked the NCT website and the course is fiercely expensive and long.

Does anyone have any suggestions about other things I may be able to do associated with helping people to breastfeed? Even if it is voluntary I would be happy.

In my area the local NHS PCT trust fund courses for those who are interested. I trained as a volunteer supporter using this route. The course is extensive and covers, I am told, the same content as the NCT. It also includes a CRB check and registers you on the local PCT insurance etc. It might be a route worth pursuing?

The hours are awkward, the pay is zero but the reward of seeing mother and baby successfully bond and feed is amazing.

Good luck.

I think that sounds more like my kind of route. I will find out about being volunteer supporter.

I am really fancying it more now.

Thanks.
