Ds2 is now 2.3 and is still feeding from me. I would like to stop now and he doesn't.
He still feeds 2-3 times a night and I need sleep. I know I have "created a rod for my own back". It would just be nice to not be greeted by "booby now please" the second I get in from work.
Please don't get me wrong I have loved feeding him and I love the bond we have.
I don't know where to start about stopping.
Or will he give up by himself soon?
I don't want to cause him loads of upset so if its best to let him stop by himself I will do.
Any tips or suggestions will be greatfully recieved

Have you read 'How Weaning Happens' by Diane Bengson? It might help.

If it's any help I'm still nursing DS2 who is 2.7. I find distraction helps but if I've been out usually it's the first thing he (and DD) want. I think it's their way of reconnecting.

What about nightweaning first and then seeing how you feel?

Does he have cow's milk at all? You could start offering it in a cup, e.g. at breakfast, as a gentle introduction to the idea of stopping mummy's milk. (If I give my DS cow's milk I tend to give it cold now)

Thank you will have a look at the book and will try night weaning first. Will also try him with cups of cows milk.
Have just found out we moving in a couple of weeks so will wait for him to get his own bedroom and see if that helps too.
Thank you both again
