I am utterly exhausted. DD is currently going to bed at 6.30pm/7pm and I'm lucky if she goes 1.5 hours before needing another feed.

Last night she didn't settle till gone midnight and then fed lots till 6am.

She's in a bedside cot so I feed laying down etc but I am seriously exhausted. Also have a 5 and 2 year old.

Was never this bad with them I'm sure - she just does seem to feed little and often.

So do I hold on till the 23rd when she's 6 months to start weaning? Is it just a growth spurt.

I seriously thought about formula last night which is most unlike me and I won't do but I am really not enjoying this.

She's just two weeks off six months? Well done for ebf so long - I think I started all my children on solids at around five and a half months but the recommendation is six months.

Having said that, starting solids didn't help any of my children with sleeping!

Are you sure she's hungry when she's waking up, or just wanting to bf to get herself back to sleep?

If she is hungry, it is probably just a growth spurt and she is just stimulating your milk supply and hopefully it should calm down in a couple of days. in the meantime can you get any rest during the day - can someone help you with the children so you can rest?

Thanks Belgo.

I know realistically that a little bit of carrot or whatever isn't going to make much difference.

Will just keep going for the next two weeks and hope she settles down a bit.

Luckily snowed in today so just having a lazy day with the children.

There are so many mumsnet babies doing this at the moment. I think they are all logging on and plotting together. There must be some sort of prize for the one who drives their mother insane quickest.

Good luck - no advice I'm afraid but I am going through similar. Ds is just 6 months now and we started weaning a bit early, but so far it's making no difference.

My ds is doing this at the moment he's nearly 10 months, I think it might be more teeth coming. Could it be new teeth unsettling her?
Plod on, it'll get better for us both...eventually!

Tracy poor you, you must be going slightly mad. I waited until exactly 26 weeks and introduced solids and I can say that from around week 22 onwards it was quite hard with a looot of extra feeds.
I don't think I put him to bed that early though so I didn't notice it so much in the evening as we were both up, but there was a definite increase through the night between midnight and 7am.
Do you co-sleep in the same bed ever? I found it easier to cope when I could sleep through the feeds.
Hopefully, you will have a few more lazy days courtesy of the snow.
