I'm travelling to england at the end of december with my new baby and would really like to take the opportunity to see a bfing consultant who speaks the same language as me. Can anyone let me know how I find one? I'll be in the NE.

Can you try phoning the NCT/la leche league and asking for the details of BF counsellors in the area you'll be visiting? Or phone the maternity unit of the nearest couple of hospitals and see if there's a breastfeeding cafe there that you can visit.

Also, if you post on here where in the country you'll be, people might be able to put you in touch with private BF counsellors.

this may help
Do you want a lactation consultant or a BF counselor?

Can you say where in the NE you will be? My friend is a midwife and is the best ever for getting her patients to get the hang of BF, she will persevere with you and is a lovely, lovely girl. Maybe you could meet her?

what you want is a breastfeeding counsellor - they are volunteers who have been trained and work for various charities.

contact a helpline before you go if you can, you could arrnage a time to talk to someone in advance. bfn here or la leche league or nct.

also see whether there are any sure start bf groups in the area you are visiting, although they can be a bit variable.
