Hello

I am looking for ways to boost my supply and store some breast milk. I have a medela swing and don't have a tremendous amount of success with it. It is quite frustrating sometimes when I can't pump any out yet when I hand express there is definately some milk in there. So,as it is critical that I get my supply boosted I thought it would be worth trying a hospital pump.

Has anyone tried any and which did you find the best?

many thanks

I used the Ameda elite (you can see it on ameda.com) but found the ameda lactaline as good - it's just that the motor's not as robust. You can double pump with both.

Don't splash out the cash without trying one first though. If you need to pump for medical reasons, can you not borrow one from the hospital? Also, I think some bf counsellors lend them out to try.

Are you relaxed when pumping? I found that it was useful to either have the baby near me or at least a piece of his clothing to smell to help with let down.
