Which bottles to buy for feeding - advice please

Hi I used Dr Browns with ds but can anyone recommend any other bottles without so many parts to clean. I'm due next week, going to give breast feeding another good go but also want to have bottles ready or least an idea of which ones I need to buy.

DS - we used TT closer to nature as i mix fed

DD - bottle refuser - have tried TT, Nuk and going to try breastflow

FWIW, i think it is trial and error so would see how the breastfeeding goes before spending £££ on bottles

agree it's trial and error. see how the breastfeeding works out and then get bottles if you need to.

thanks rubyslippers. will def be using bottles at some stage just wanted to find out if there were any that stood out from the rest. managed 6 weeks breast feeding with ds so hoping to reach that and maybe beyond but as I'm due next week thought it would be last chance to actually do research on bottles, otherwise will end up spending ££££ buying dr browns again as I gave mine away to SIL

thanks thisisyesterday, like I said, I am going to give breast feeding a go, but what I'm really asking for is advice on which bottles to buy when I need them, which I will do at some stage. It would just be good to avoid trial and error as this will cost me more money.
I have heard TT closer to nature are good

think it depends on the baby though.

some seem to take anything, others just don't like a bottle and will refuse all of them!

you could have a hundred mums on here all say "my baby liked avent ones" but still find your little one hates them.

ds1 took anything, ds2 refused completely until he was about 6 or 7 months when he accepted a mam one or a tommee tippee closer to nature one, and ds3 is 6 months now and will have a few sips from the mam one but nothing else.

i mean, by all means buy a few now, but I don't think you'll ever get a definiteive answer on this one

fwiw though i've seen the breastflow ones and the closer to nature ones in tk maxx recently.

pattymc · 10/12/2009 21:32

yes I saw the TT in TK maxx too! thanks, I think you're right, never going to find the perfect bottle - hoped there might be clear winner.

I would personally go with TT closer to nature they are brilliant, easy to switch between bottle and breast too, my dd who is formula fed (long story) trying to re-start supply will quite happily latch on still after nearly a 10 weeks gap!

DD only likes Breastflow ones. Used to take any, but started throwing hissy fits till we got the Breastflow ones.
